Frances Julia Lash Ancone, 86, of Utica passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. Frances was born on June 23, 1929 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Joseph John Lash and Julia (Kudla) Lash Jarosz. She came to Utica as a young child and received her education in local schools. On September 9, 1950 she was married to Joseph P. Ancone, a blessed union of 52 years at the time of his death. Joseph died on October 21, 2002. Frances was last employed by Lucas Aerospace from where she retired. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church and a proud participant in Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration at St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church. Frances is survived by two daughters, Susan Mariani of Utica and Judy Collins of Mebane, NC, two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Jr. and Joanne (Marshone) Ancone of North Syracuse and Dr. Leonard and Theresa (Wameling) Ancone of Jamesville, NY. She also leaves her great treasure of grandchildren and great grandchildren along with her prayer for a long and happy life for each of them. Granddaughters, Andrea Mariani, Melissa (Edward) Kowalski, Lauren Ancone, Amy Ancone, Jennifer Ancone, Abbe Collins, Megan Collins and Madilyn Ancone. Grandsons, Frank Robert (Semira) Mariani, Steven (Evelyn) Mariani, and Thomas Fletcher. Great grandchildren, William(Billy) Keiser V, Drew Keiser, Max Kowalski, Nathan Mariani, Nicholas Mariani, Eleni Mariani and Alexander Mariani. She is also survived by two brothers and their wives, Lawrence and Ann Lash of Forestport and James and Carole Jarosz of Watertown, two sisters and their husbands, Charlene and Victor Perun of Schnectady and Linda and Duane Rogers of West Winfield, two sisters-in-laws, Mary Maio and Christine Jarosz both of Utica. Frances was predeceased by two brothers, Father Theodore (Gene) Lash, OMF, Conv. on October 23, 1999, Francis Paul Jarosz on November 10, 2011 and a son-in-law, Frank J. Mariani on March 31, 2007. Frances requested that all her family and friends be happy in her passing into the compassionate and loving arms of Our Heavenly Father. Please pray for her. Mrs. Ancone’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 9:45 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and at 10:30 from St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church, Utica.
