Mr. John H. King, 91, of NY Mills, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Hospice Siegenthaler Center in New Hartford with his loving family by his side. John was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 27, 1924 the son of James and Elizabeth (Smith) King and was a graduate of New Hartford high School. John honorably served in the Army Air Force during WW II. On September 26, 1946, He married Gertrude (Pat) Ryan, a devoted union of 41 years until Gertrude's death in 1987. For many years until his retirement, John was employed as Senior Manufacturing Engineer with Lucas Aerospace (Bendix) in Utica. John will be remembered as a proud veteran, husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Our Lady of The Rosary Church in New Hartford, a life member of VFW Post 7393 in NY Mills and was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. Mr. King is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Mark Hanna of Berkley Dr., Clinton; two cherished grandsons, Mark T. Hanna and Ryan Hanna both of Berkley Dr., Clinton; a special grandson, Edward Constantine; in-laws, William and Viola Ciancoglini of Annapolis, MD; dear friends, Karen Nemeyer and Pat Nemeyer as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Hines; in-laws, Effie and Emmett Ryan, Margaret and Kelley Dickinson, Charles and Rhada Ryan, Theresa and Everest Trudeau, Barbara and Bob Robare, Joyce and Ray Myers and Tom Ryan and his dear friend and companion, Ina Nowak. Mr. King's funeral and burial will be held at the convenience of his family. There are no calling hours.
