Beatrice Marie Terpstra, 79, of N. Utica, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. Beatrice was born in Utica on November 7, 1935 the daughter of Howard and Mabel (Cook) Blancher and was a graduate of Sauquoit High School. On October 22, 1960, Beatrice married John Terpstra at First Presbyterian Church in Utica. At one time, Beatrice was employed with Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company, later with Faxton-Sunset Nursing Home and most recently with Bank of Utica, retiring in 2000. She was a member of the former Christ Community Church in N. Utica and enjoyed reading, sewing and crafts. A devoted mother and grandmother, Beatrice dedicated her life to her beloved family. Her deep devotion and faith in God was a central part her life. Mrs. Terpstra is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Christina and Thomas Weigand of Deerfield and Wendy and John Firsching of Westmoreland; four cherished grandchildren, Justin Firsching, Sean Firsching, Quintin Weigand and Morgan Weigand; one sister, Catherine Krom of Boonville; a dear friend, Joan Cavanaugh of N. Utica as well as several nieces, nephews, close friends and church friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Beatrice's memorial service on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Her burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park in Kirkland. There are no calling hours. Those wishing to make a donation in Beatrice's memory, please consider the Visiting Nurses Association, Utica Fire Department or American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
