Clinton - Clarence "Mike" A. Redmond, 89, of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Katherine Luther Rehabilitation Center in Clinton. Mike was born July 12, 1928 in Scranton, PA, the son of Louis and Hildegard (Senger) Redmond. He was raised and educated locally, was a graduate of Westmoreland High School and a member of the Future Farmers of America. On June 28, 1952, Mike married Elizabeth J. Ogden, sharing a union of 64 years until her passing in February of this year. Mike owned and operated Redmond’s Appliance Service in Clinton, as well as being a farmer, raising heifers and bailing hay, from the time he and his wife arrived in Clinton in 1972 until his health forced him to retire just last year. Mike loved his daily lunches at Charlie’s place with his friends. He was an avid reader and a frequent visitor to the Kirkland Town Library. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Clinton. Mike is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and William Heintz II, Lake Champlain, Dianne and Dr. James Bordley, Cooperstown; three grandchildren, Will Heintz, Jamie and Jessie Bordley; two great-grandchildren, James and Calvin Bordley; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and David King, Marcy, as well as several sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a special friend, Mike Orsino, Clinton, whom Mike thought of like a son. Besides his wife, Mike is predeceased by a son, Thomas Redmond, as well as by two sisters and eight brothers. Mr. Redmond's funeral will be held September 6, 2017 at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Church, Clinton, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be held privately in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Whitestown. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton, Tuesday evening, from 4 - 6 pm. Those wishing may donate to the Kirkland Town Library, 55 ½ College St., Clinton in Mike’s memory.
