Mary L. Shibley, 97, of Schuyler passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Utica on June 4, 1918, a daughter of Henry W. and Irene (Larraby) Eilers. She was united in marriage to John E. Shibley at St. Agnes Church, Utica on September 18, 1937, a blessed union of 64 years until his death on April 23, 2001. Mary was a parishioner of St. Mark's Church in North Utica and a member of the D.A.V. Stars and Stripes Chapter #82 Ladies Aux. She was an avid reader and Yankees Fan. Mary had a close relationship with her great granddaughter Rebecca Richards Lashure who lived in the area. Becky taught her to text and did she ever !, "LOL". Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Ann and Fred Ayers of Albany, six grandchildren, David Jr., Steven, Teresa, Karen, Daniel and Melissa, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren especially remembering her newest great great grandson, Brayden and a daughter-in-law Jean Shibley. Mary was predeceased by an infant daughter, Therese, three sons John, David and Nicholas and four brothers, Clarence, Henry, Francis and James Eilers. Mrs. Shibley's funeral will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and at 10:00 from St. Mark's Church, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery, Utica.
