Mr. John (Jack) R. Boehlert, 76, of Whitesboro, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. John was born in Utica on June 6, 1939 the son of Raymond and Lois (Schaub) Boehlert. He was raised locally and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On December 3, 1960, Jack married Sherrie L. Bassett at Sacred Heart Church in Utica. For many years, he was employed with Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company retiring in 1991. Jack was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Boehlert is survived by his beloved wife, Sherrie; one daughter and son-in-law, Tammi and Daniel Powers of Clinton; one son, Jeffrey Boehlert of NY Mills; three cherished grandchildren, Benjamin Capuana of Cincinnati, OH, Megan Capuana of Whitesboro and Stephanie Boehlert of NY Mills; one sister, Patricia Berg of New Hartford; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Elaine Boehlert of Utica; two brothers-in-law, George Bassett and his wife Jean of Utica and Thomas Shelby of Whitesboro; a longtime friend, Robert Kluska of Utica as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Boehlert's funeral and burial will be held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica.
