Denise R. Lasher Kent, 57, of Utica passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. Denise was born in Utica on May 23, 1958 a daughter of Richard and Kathleen (O'Shea) Lasher and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On August 2, 2007 Denise was united in marriage to Thomas M. Kent. Denise always enjoyed raising her two birds Meeker and Pauly and her two dogs Lucy and Buddy but received the most enjoyment from taking care of her grandchildren. Denise is survived by her husband, Tom, her five children, Lisa Shaver, Malone, NY, Cindy Maxim, Kathy Lasher, FL, Bonnie Lasher, Utica and Daniel Lasher, Utica, brothers and sister, Peggy Manley, Utica, Howard Lasher, Utica, Francis Ward, Utica, Brian Lasher, Utica and Tina Meyers, Mohawk, a close family friend who was like a brother, Ricky Hughes and many grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Denise was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Colleen Lasher and two brothers, Richard Lasher Jr. and Allen Lasher. A funeral service for Mrs. Kent will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 6:00 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday evening from 4-6.
