Doris R. Deming of Clinton, NY passed away peacefully with her three sons by her side Thursday night, July 9th, 2015 at the Lutheran Home in Clinton. Doris was a loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a fierce and loyal New York Yankee Fan her entire life, missing only a handful of games in her 78 years. Doris loved her favorite television shows, her coffee, her flowers, her friends, the Yankees, her personal relationship with God and above all, she loved her family and her family loved her. Doris was born, May 22, 1937 in Utica, NY the daughter of the late George H. Rausch and Blanche Mooth Rausch. Educated locally, she was a 1955 graduate of Utica Catholic Academy. On May 26, 1956 she was united in marriage to Alden (Sonny) L. Deming, Jr. and enjoyed a loving union of 51 years until his passing on February 20th, 2007. Doris and Al where proud and active members of the New York Mills Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary for many years and made many special friends during that time. Doris worked full time at various jobs most of her life, only taking time off to give birth to her three beloved sons. She retired from Faxton-St. Luke's business office in 2000. She is survived by her son Steven Deming and his girlfriend Karen Grimaldi of Syracuse, NY, son and daughter-in-law Scott and Deborah Deming of Syracuse, NY and son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Kimberly Deming of West Winfield, NY; Nine grandchildren-Ashley and husband Justin Philips of Connecticut, Blake Deming and Danielle Kahn of Astoria, NY, Alexandra Deming and Colin Sorber of Albany, NY, Ryan Deming and Andrea Kroger of Syracuse, NY, Taylor Deming and Erin Berwald of Ithaca, NY, Danielle Deming of Syracuse, NY, Nicole Deming of Syracuse, NY, Aaron Deming and Faith Young of Wallkill, NY and Justin and Courtney Deming of Hyde Park, NY; She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Carol Rausch of Utica, NY and her best friend of over 50 years Lola Hiffa of New York Mills, NY. She is predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Joan and John Lucianatelli, sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Joe Fiore, stepfather Eugene Nicotera, great-granddaughter Amaya Lynne Beaudreault and her niece Regina Rausch Mrs. Deming's funeral will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 16 Park Avenue, Whitesboro, NY, where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville, NY. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413 in Doris' memory. Finally, the family would like to take a moment to thank the wonderful professionals on the Gordon Unit at the Lutheran Home for their care, love and support. A special thanks goes to Roxanne Barrett at the Lutheran Home, a friend and champion. We would also like to thank everyone at Hospice who worked closely with mom to keep her comfortable and happy.
