Mrs. Frances Monaco, 89, of Utica, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. Frances was born in Utica on March 12, 1928 the daughter of Frank and Catherine (Moskal) Bartkowiak and received her education in local schools. Frances was married to Steven Monaco until his death in 1983. For many years, she was employed with Dunlop Tires in Utica. Frances was a kind hearted person who enjoyed entertaining her family for the holidays and camping with her family at Hinckley Lake. She was extremely proud of her Polish heritage and enjoyed cooking Polish and Italian food. she was an avid bingo player and was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Monaco is survived by one daughter, Judy Monaco of Utica; four sons, Ronald Monaco, Ralph and his wife Gloria Monaco, Frank and his wife Mary (Kelly) Monaco, and Gene Monaco all of Utica; 9 cherished grandchildren, Lori, Christina, Ronald, Stevie, Jason, Nick, Crystal, Victoria and Grace; three adored great grandchildren, Jason, Jr., Jordan and Giovanni; one sister, Helen Polak of Utica as well as several step grandchildren nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by her son Steven, Jr., four brothers, Joey, Frank, John and Bob Bartkowiak and two sisters, Irene Poccia and Mary Fasola. Mrs. Monaco's funeral will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Her interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Monday 12:00-1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
