Karl J. Weibel, 92, of Utica passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. Karl was born in Utica on August 5, 1922, a son of Richard and Minnie (Schreck) Weibel. He was raised and educated in Utica and was a 1942 graduate of Utica Free Academy. Karl was employed with the Hurd Shoe Co. for 34 years retiring in 1987. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and an usher of the church. He was also a member of the Utica Elks Lodge 33, BPOE and was a proud recipient of the Elk of the Year Award. Karl is survived by two sisters, Ann Winchell of Utica, and Monica Manley, N. Collins, NY, a brother, James Weibel, New Hartford and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mr. Weibel's funeral will be held on Saturday May 16, 2015 at 8:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 9:00 from Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 4-7. Those so wishing may make donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Karl's memory.
