Susan Amado, 65, of Utica passed away on Monday April 20, 2015. Susan was born in Lackawanna, NY on July 5, 1949, a daughter of Nicholas and Drogitza (Pritza) Basich. In 1973, Susan was united in marriage to John H. Amado, together they had three daughters. Susan led a full and happy life. She was loved by everyone and loved everyone, regardless of race, creed or color. She had a giving soul in life and in the after. Words can't describe the love of a wife, mother, and grandmother. Sue was unique, eccentric and loving. Her spirit is gone but her love of life will live on forever in our hearts. She was a free spirit, who loved to fish, camp and ride her motorcycle. She loved people and helped anyone even when she had little to give. Her heart was filled with love and compassion. She especially loved her family, husband and grandchildren. She truly will be missed, but never forgotten. Susan is survived by her husband, John, daughters, Vanessa Baird and husband, Chris, Carol Sue Amado and finance, Duane Dibble, and Amanda Amado and Becky Kelsey, six grandchildren, Christopher Baird Jr., Paige Baird, Trina Baird, Charisma Dibble, Jasmine Curless and Nicholas Curless, a sister, Christine Terrel, TX, a brother, Jesse Basich, IL, a sister-in-law, Jeannie Basich, TX, two brothers-in-law, Mitchell Amado Jr. and his wife Dorothy and Jim Amado and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Nicholas and John Harvey and a brother, Michael. A funeral service for Mrs. Amado will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 11:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 5-7.
