Michael J. Knott, 63, of Utica passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 11, 2015. Michael was born in Utica, NY on June 9, 1951 the son of Earl and Shirley (Nichols) Knott. He was raised and educated in the Utica school system. Michael had been employed with McCraith Beverage Co. until his retirement. He was formerly employed with the Great American Food Co. Michael was a member of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, Utica, and a former member of the Knights of St. Johns, Utica. He was an avid fan of all sports. Michael will be remembered by all his family and friends for all his generosity and caring nature. He is survived by two sisters and a brother, Karen Knott of Utica, Kathy and her husband Robert Harvey of Clinton, and Thomas Knott of Watertown; niece and nephews, Brian Harvey and fiance' Kara Sebastian of Deerfield, Kristopher Harvey of Rome, and Kayla McNiel and husband Derek of Whitesboro; a great nephew, Noah Harvey of Deerfield; and also, two aunts, Janis Grosjeans, and Linda Studdard and her husband Ken of Clinton. Michael will be missed by "furever" friends, Toby and Penney. He was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Shirley. Mr. Knott's funeral will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 9:15 am from the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica and at 10:00 am from St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, Utica where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. His Rite of Burial and Committal will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Whitestown. Calling hours at the funeral home will be from 4:00 until 7:00 pm Tuesday (today) evening . Donation, in Michael's memory would be appreciated to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society.
