Lorraine Mary Armitage, 84, of Oriskany, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare after a brief illness, with her loving family by her side. Lorraine was born in Utica on February 4, 1931, a daughter of Charles and Angelina (Belanger) Austin. Lorraine married Robert J. Armitage at Sacred Heart Church, Utica on October 27, 1951, a blessed union of 53 years until his death on August 12, 2004. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church, Utica. Lorraine is survived by her 12 children, seven sons and five daughters, 46 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and a brother. She was predeceased by 9 siblings and a great granddaughter. A Traditional Requiem Latin Mass will be offered for Mrs. Armitage by Father John Mikalajunas at Holy Trinity Church on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers please consider Masses at your local Catholic church in Lorraine's memory.
