Howard W. Burdick, 79, of Hinckley, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. Howard was born in New Hartford on September 11, 1935, the son of Edward and Aida (Hebert) Haman. Howard was united in marriage to Dolores Major at Our Lady of The Rosary Church on October 15, 1960. For many years until his retirement in 1990 he was employed at the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center. After his retirement he worked at the Sitrin Health Care and the Lutheran Care Community. Howard was a parishioner of St. Leo's Church, Holland Patent. Howard is survived by his wife Dolores, two sons, Steven Burdick, of Ava, NY and Keith Burdick and wife Carol, of Saratoga Springs, NY, six grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Kevin, Chase, Megan and Logan, a daughter-in-law, Mary Burdick, of Rome, in-laws, Diane Alsante, of NY Mills, Oliver Major, of NY Mills and Andrea Major, of Forestport and many nieces and nephews. Howard was predeceased by two sisters, Denise Avery and Claudia Peck. Mr. Burdick's funeral will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 10:30 from St. Leo's Church, Holland Patent. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica will be held on Thursday from 4-8. Those so wishing may make donations to the Humane Society in Howard's memory.
