Joyce W. (Babowicz) Geddes, 75, of Clifton Park, formerly of New Hartford, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy, NY. Joyce was born June 26, 1939, in Utica, NY, the daughter of Garfield and Gertrude (Doyle) Watkins. She was raised and educated locally and a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School. In 1967, Joyce married Anthony Babowicz. In 2005, Joyce married James Geddes. Mr. Geddes passed away in 2011. She had been employed with Business Services in Utica. For many years, Joyce had belonged to a bowling league at Riverside Lanes. She enjoyed gardening and volunteering with the Ziyara Shriners. Joyce was of the Catholic faith. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Colleen Babowicz and her companion, James Liddle, Schenectady; three step-sons and two step-daughters-in-law, Michael and Edee Geddes, New Hartford, Robert Geddes, CA, Kevin and Gina Geddes, NC; eight step-grandchildren, Mitch Geddes, Sean Geddes, Laura Martin, Louis D'Andrea, Julianne D'Andrea, Joshua Geddes, Jake Geddes, Ashley Vought; and one brother, David Watkins, Hinckley Lake, NY. Joyce is predeceased by a step-daughter, Kathryn D'Andrea, and a step-granddaughter, Kate Thomas. Mrs. Geddes' funeral service will be held on Thursday morning, February 5, 2015 at 11:30 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Whitestown. There are no calling hours. Those wishing may donate to the American Cancer Society in Joyce's memory.
