Mrs. Mary Ann Swenton, 87, of Saratoga Springs, NY, formerly of Utica, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Community Hospice Inn, Albany, NY.
Mary Ann was born in Utica on July 3, 1930 the daughter of Julia (Glod) Mercier and received her education in Utica Schools. After the untimely passing of her mother, Mary Ann was raised by her loving grandparents, Aurelio and Marietta Mercier. On January 20, 1951, Mary was united in Marriage to Norbert T. Swenton, a loving and devoted union of 44 years until Norbert’s death in 1995. Mary moved to Saratoga Springs from Utica in 1999 and made many friends there. She also attended St. Clements Church in Saratoga Springs. Mrs. Swenton is survived by her four wonderful children, Michael T. Swenton and his wife Andrea of Mount Laurel, NJ, Steven Swenton and his wife Diane of Minoa, NY, Lori Greer and her husband David of Queensbury, NY and David A. Swenton of Syracuse/Utica and three cherished grandchildren who she loved dearly, Rebecca Burgess of Glens Falls, NY, Ryan Swenton of Minoa, NY and James Greer of Troy, NY. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Aurelio and Marietta Mercier, brother, Joseph Mercier, Jr. and mother-in-law, Mary Swietanowski who was very special to Mary Ann.
In Keeping with Mary Ann’s wishes, her funeral and burial will be held privately at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours.
