Mrs. Jeanne A. Reilly, 67, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 8, 2014 at her home. Jeanne was born in Utica on December 20, 1946 the daughter of Joseph J. and Eleanor Marion (Jennings) Metzger. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy. On July 2, 1965, Jeanne married James F. Reilly at Historic Old St. John's Church in Utica and loving and devoted union of 31 years until James' death in 1996. For a number of years, she was employed with M&M Cleaners in Utica. Jeanne was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Utica and a member of the Utica Maennerchor. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Jeanne's greatest joy was spending time with her precious grandchildren. Mrs. Reilly is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Kimberly A. and Dr. Charles A. Choi, DDS of Canastota and Mary Ellen Reilly and Anthony Angotti, Jr., of Rome; one son and daughter-in-law, James M. and Nicole Reilly of Whitesboro; six cherished grandchildren, who affectionately called her MeMe, Leslie Choi and Allison Choi, both of Canastota, Victoria Hocking and Evan Hocking both of Rome and Caitlin Reilly and Jimmy Reilly, both of Whitesboro; one sister, Judi Goppert of Oneida; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Richard and Terri Metzger of Bainbridge, NY, Jack Metzger and his wife Mary Muncil of Cambridge, NY and Alesia Metzger of New Hartford; a brother-in-law, Jack Close of Palmyra, NY as well as several nieces, nephews, cousin, in-laws and dear friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Sheila Close and brother, Michael Metzger. Mrs. Reilly's funeral will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her Rite of Burial and Committal will be in Calvary Cemetery in Utica. Calling hours for family and friends are Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.
