Steven R. Day, 24, of Deerfield passed away on Thursday October 23, 2014. Steven was born in Utica on May 16, 1990, a son of Stephen C. and Sheila M. (Neary) Day. He was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. He was currently employed with a local tree service. Steven was a member of the Deerfield Fish and Game Club and Our Lady of Lourdes Church. He enjoyed all outdoor activities including, camping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and dirt bike riding, but most of all just sitting around the campfire. Steven is survived by his parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Carolynn and Jason Zima, New York Mills, a brother, Michael Day, Deerfield, a nephew, Aiden Zima, maternal grandparents, James and Patricia Neary, Deerfield, paternal grandparents, Charles and Janet Day, Sebring, FL, aunts and uncles, James and Kathy Neary, Rochester, David Neary, Clark Mills, Cathy and Mike Barr, Deerfield, Maureen and Warren Stearns, W. VA., Gretchen LaManque, Deerfield, Brian and Melodie Day, Little Falls, Karen Neary, New York Mills, and Chris LaManque, Holland Patent. He is also survived by many cousins, special friends, and his" Band of Brothers". Steven's funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 10:00 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, and at 11:00 from Our Lady of Lourdes Church where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 4 - 8.
