James F. Gigliotti, 87, of North Utica passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare with his loving family by his side. James was born in Utica on September 2, 1927, a son of the late Gabriel and Theresa (Notaro) Gigliotti and attended local schools. James served in the Army during World War II. In Utica on July 26, 1952, James was united in marriage to Roberta Goff, a blessed union of 62 years. He was employed for over 25 years with Bendix Corp. retiring in 1978. James attended St. Mark's Church, N. Utica. James was Quarter Master of the Magnificent Yankees Drum and Bugle Corp. He was a avid Syracuse University Football fan. James had a passion for woodworking, gardening and going to the casino. Most of all, James' family was the light of his love. He derived much joy in spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. James is survived by his beloved wife, Roberta, his four children and spouses, James and Donna Gigliotti of Utica, Richard Gigliotti of Cicero, NY, Toni Carino of Deerfield and Debbie and Bob Bilodeau of Utica, six cherished grandchildren, John, Jessie and Sami Bilodeau and Sarah, Marissa and Erica Gigliotti, three cherished great grandchildren, Layla Shepard, Ava and Dominic and a sister, Getta Spiridilozzi of Frankfort. James was predeceased by two brothers, Sam and Robert, four sisters, Mary Pape, Fannie Staley, Rose Renzi and Dorothy Mariani, a son-in-law, Steven Carino and a daughter-in-law, Penny Gigliotti. Mr. Gigliotti's funeral will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and at 10:00 from St. Mark's Church, N. Utica. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday (Today) from 4-7. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. William Krause and his staff, the staff of the CNY Cardiology for all the loving care given to James and to Bob and Julie Zaykowski for all of their love and support during these difficult times.
