Mrs. Linda M. Lindsay, 55, of Schuyler, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital in Syracuse with her loving family by her side. Linda was born in Schenectady, NY on February 28, 1959, the daughter of George and Shirley (Sholtes) Oakley. She was raised in Schuyler and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. On January 24, 1976, Linda married Robin C. Lindsay at Schuyler Methodist Church. At one time, Linda was employed as a Phlebotomist with St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica and was a current member of Schuyler Methodist Church. Linda enjoyed traveling with her husband Robin, spending time at the family camp in Speculator and was a animal lover, especially her dog, Cindel. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and received the greatest joy spending time with her beloved family. Mrs. Lindsay is survived by her loving husband, Robin; three cherished children, Kimberly Lindsay of Schuyler, Robin, Jr. and Eileen Lindsay of Schuyler and Courtney Lindsay of Ilion; her parents, George and Shirley Oakley of Forestport; five adored grandchildren, Shania, Siara, Ethan, Emma and Ruby; one sister, Bridget Allen of Utica; half sister, Deborah Oakley of Westmoreland; half brother, Mark Oakley of Newport; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Don McDonald, Wendy and Glenn Upson, George Lindsay and Tom and Judy Lindsay; dear friends, Mary and Steve Haman and Terri and Patrick Kinsella, as well as several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Linda's life, on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Burial will be in West Schuyler Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00-2:00 prior to the service.
