Obituary of Diane Ada Spring

Mrs. Diane Ada Spring, 74, a resident of the Katherine Luther Residential and Rehabilitation Center in Clinton, formerly of North Utica and Floyd, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Diane was born on March 8, 1940 in Frankfort, NY the daughter of Walter and Dorothy (Doodson) Cress and received her education in Frankfort schools. On November 19, 1960, Diane married Phillip Michael Spring at St. Joseph's Church in Utica a devoted union of 38 years until Phillip's death in 1998. Diane was employed with Roger's Coffee Shop, later with The Rainbow Grill and most recently as head of the wait staff at Twin Ponds Golf and Country Club. She truly enjoyed cooking, bowling, going to Sylvan Beach, drinking good cup of coffee and most importantly spending time with her beloved family. Mrs. Spring is survived by her daughter Laurie Spring and her companion, Randy Hurlburt of Floyd; cherished grandchildren, Phillip Sann and his companion, Akeemah Codrington of Rome, Jeffery and Brooke Sann of Remsen and Melissa Kleek of Utica; adored great grandson, Forest Michael Sann; cousin, Louise Curran and a dear friend, Sandra DiMaggio Driekorn. She was predeceased by two daughters, Mary Lynn Spring-Sann and Michelle Joan Spring. Mrs. Spring's funeral will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, 702 Columbia St. in Utica. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Yorkville. Calling hours for family and friends are Sunday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Please omit floral offerings and consider making a donation to Stevens-Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St., Utica NY 13502 or the Rome Humane Society, 6247 Lamphear Rd., PO Box 4572 Rome, NY 13440 in Diane's memory. Mrs. Spring's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff on the Saul Unit at the Lutheran Care Nursing Home for the loving care and compassion given to Diane.
