Maronetta M. Foster, 86, a resident of the Folts Home in Herkimer, formerly of Hamilton, NY passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Nursing home with her loving family by her side. Maronetta was born in Utica on November 8, 1930, a daughter of Ambrose and Florence (Flint) Alsheimer, and received her education in Utica schools. On March 17, 1956 in Fort Ord California, Maronetta was united in marriage to Howard Foster Sr., a blessed union of 45 years until his passing in 2001. For many years she was employed as a nurse at Faxton Hospital and later at St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Utica. Maronetta enjoyed her home and most of all she derived great joy spending time with her family. Mrs. Foster is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Elizabeth Dennis of Utica, Patricia and Ronald Hocking of Ilion and Phyllis and Ed Paterson of FL.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Howard, Jr. and Trudy Foster of Cassville, and Philip and Michele Foster of Frankfort; a special grandson, Gary Smith of Ilion; one sister, June Stockhauser of OH and one brother, Ambrose Alsheimer of Ilion. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela Cutway, a son, Harley Foster, a grandson, Christopher Hocking, four sisters, Florence Harrington, Ruth Alsheimer, Mary Major and Ann Conley and two brothers, Andrew Alsheimer and Carl Alsheimer. Mrs. Foster’s funeral will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St. Utica and 11:00 at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum in Yorkville.
