Marie M. Connors, 91, a resident of St. Joseph's Nursing Home, formerly of North Utica, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the nursing home. Marie was born April 6, 1923 in Utica, NY, the daughter of William and Mary (Bechard) Holland. She was raised and educated in Utica. On June 24, 1944, Marie married Murray Connors in Utica. Mr. Connors passed away in 1975. Marie had been employed with Kelly Girls in Utica for 40 years, and then went on to work at the Mohawk Valley Workshop for another 10 years before her retirement. She was a longtime member, as well as the last surviving member of seven women, of her pinochle card club. Marie belonged to St. Peter's Church in North Utica. Marie is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Marie Connors, Kentucky, Timothy and Gwen Connors, Deerfield, Thomas and Joanne Connors, Whitesboro; seven grandchildren, Erin, Katie, Michael, Lisa, Christine, Megan, and Kelly, as well as 12 great grandchildren. Marie is predeceased by two sisters, Doris Janicki and Peggy Holland; two brothers, Billy and Francis Holland. Mrs. Connors funeral will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 9:15 am from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica, and 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home, Thursday evening, from 4 - 7 pm.
