Doris Elizabeth Armstrong, 98, of Clinton, formerly of Utica, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at her home. Doris was born August 23, 1915 in Utica, the daughter of Fred and Mae (Waterbury) Wilkie. She was raised and educated in Utica by her mother and step-father, Harold (Butch) Hensel. On February 27, 1956, Doris married Nicholas Armstrong in Oneida, NY. Mr. Armstrong passed away in 1995. She was of the Episcopal faith. In her younger years, Doris was a bowler and a dancing enthusiast. Doris is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas, Jr. and Cynthia Armstrong, Clinton; two grandchildren, Nicholas R. Armstrong and Nicole Armstrong, both of Clinton. She is predeceased by a sister, Ruth Hensel, and two brothers, Edward and Thomas Armstrong. Mrs. Armstrong's funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 10:45 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton and 11:30 am at the chapel of Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitestown. Interment will follow. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Tuesday evening, from 4 - 7 pm.
