Joseph J. Zuchowski, 91, of Massachusetts and formerly of North Utica passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014. Joseph was born in Utica on August 26, 1922 the son of Julian and Eva (Siedlecki) Zuchowski. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Joseph married his beloved wife Ruth McSweeney on October 4, 1958 in Utica a blessed union of 41 years until her death on May 25, 1999. For many years until his retirement in 1973 Joseph was employed with the Utica Water Board. He was a parishioner of St. Mark's Church, N. Utica and a former member of Holy Trinity Church, Utica and the Kolko Filaretow Polish Male Choir. Joseph is survived by a daughter, Anne-Marie Zuchowski and her husband, Meir Segal of Wellesley, MA, a son, Joseph Zuchowski, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Patricia of Guilderland, NY, four beloved grandchildren, Kathleen Segal, Katy, Joe and Kevin Zuchowski, a brother, John Zuchowski, of Utica and many nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by 4 sisters, Mary Zuchowski, Rose Zuchowski, Helen Mezzaninni and Sally Szepietowski and 3 brothers, Stanley, Stephen and Edward Zuchowski. Mr. Zuchowski's funeral will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 9:00 at St. Mark's Church, N. Utica. Burial will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Whitestown. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to "Save The Children" or Historic Old St. John's Outreach Program. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Mary Ann Morse Rehabilitation Center in Natick, MA for all the loving care they gave Joe during his short stay with them.
