Ralph M. DeNicola, 76, of North Utica passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, January 25, 2014. Ralph was born in Utica on June 1, 1937 a son of Ralph F. and Margaret (Pryor) DeNicola. He was raised and educated in Utica and was a 1955 graduate of Proctor High School. Ralph proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Ralph was united in marriage to Beverly Mathers on October 30, 1960 in Utica a blessed union of 31 years until her death on January 12, 2001. For 26 years he was employed with the Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co. and was currently employed with Mohawk Valley Knitting Machine Co. in New York Mills. Ralph enjoyed coaching baseball, coin collecting, visiting the Racino at Vernon Downs and was an avid Yankee's , Giants, and Syracuse fan. Ralph was dearly loved and gave us all great memories that we will share forever. His unique personality and sense of humor will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him especially his family and friends. Ralph is survived by his three sons, Ralph A. DeNicola, New Hartford, Mark S. DeNicola and wife Deborah, Rotterdam, NY and Jeffery M. DeNicola, Utica, 5 grandchildren, Anthony DeNicola and wife Tricia, Kara DeNicola, Jenna DeNicola, Marc DeNicola and Nicholas DeNicola, 3 great grandchildren, Enzo, Donato, and Geonni, 2 sisters, Joan Gratch and husband Sam, North Utica and Elaine Coriale and husband Thomas, Wayne, NJ, 2 brothers-in-law, Frank Mathers and John Mathers a good friend, Joe DeLorenzo, Utica and many nieces and nephews. Ralph was predeceased by a special niece, Jaclyn Coriale and a sister-in-law, Christine Mathers. Mr. DeNicola's funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and at 10:00 from St. Mark's Church, N. Utica. Burial will take place in Crown Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday (Today) from 4-7. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Lung Association.
