FLORIDA - UTICA - Benjamin J. Heneka, Jr., 96, of Melbourne, Florida, formerly of Utica, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Indian River Center in Melbourne. Benjamin was born on August 15, 1917 in Frankfort, NY, the son of Benjamin J., Sr. and Frances (Trapp) Heneka. He was raised and educated locally. After graduating high school, Benjamin joined the US Army Air Corps., serving during World War II. After coming home from his service, Benjamin married Mary Lebiednik. Mrs. Heneka passed away in 1999. He had been employed with Sperry Univac in Ilion. He was a former member of St. George's Church in Utica. Benjamin is survived by a son and daughter-in law, Steven and Yvonne Heneka, Palm Bay, FL; and two granddaughters, Stephanie Patton and Jessica Phelps. Mr. Heneka's funeral will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in St. George's Cemetery, Whitestown. There are no calling hours.
