Mrs. Margaret L. Getz, 63, of Clinton, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare in New Hartford. Margaret was born in New Hartford on March 15, 1954, the daughter of John and Agnes (Cichon) Dunn and was a graduate of New Hartford High School. On October 22, 1975, Margaret married Michael W. Getz, Sr., at St. John the Evangelist Church in New Hartford. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her children. This love was also evident by the way she helped raise and care for Gail and Tim Johnson, Ben and Ruth Johnson and the Gesualdo family. Margaret was a Parishioner of St. Thomas Church in New Hartford. Mrs. Getz is survived by her loving husband, Michael; daughter, Laura Joseph of Clinton; son, Michael W. Getz, Jr. of New Hartford; a cherished grandson, Benjamin Joseph of Clinton; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Susan Dunn and Daniel Cook of New Hartford, Mary Dunn of CA, Kathy and Stephen Petrowski of Yorkville, Carol and Alan Baker of Fl, and Debbie and Douglas Granell of TX; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, John and Valerie Dunn of TX, James and Lori Dunn of Schuyler and Christopher Dunn of N. Utica; her mother in law, Beverly Dustin of FL; her brother-in-law Scott Dustin of FL, two sisters-in-law, Sharon Getz and Don Calicchia of Clinton and Gail Villanueva and her Husband Andy of MA as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Charlene Barker and brother, Kevin Dunn. Mrs. Getz's funeral will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 E. Park Row, Clinton and 10:00 at St. Thomas Church in New Hartford where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Clinton. Calling hours for family and friends are Friday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Mrs. Getz's family extends a special thank you to Dr. Maria Gesualdo and the staff of the ICU at St. Luke's Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion given to Margaret.
