Obituary of William T. Peycke

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William T. Peycke, (Bill), 70, of Clinton, went to rest peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at his home, with his loving family by his side. Bill was born on January 15, 1943 in Utica, NY, the son of William and Ruth (DePledge) Peycke. He was raised and educated locally, graduating from Proctor High School and later from Culinary school. Bill was employed with New York State Department of Mental Health, specifically at Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center in Marcy for 37 years until his retirement in 1996. He simultaneously own and operated Sauquoit Valley Siding for over 35 years, of which he never truly retired, and was the developer of the Arrowhead Subdivision in Clinton. He was a member of Hope Alliance Church in New Hartford, and his strong sense of God and faith were part of his daily life. Bill had been a member of the Moose Club in Marcy and Florida. Growing up, Bill loved hunting and skiing, and later enjoyed family time at camp on Lake Moraine, winters in Florida, and trips to Cape Cod. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His sense of humor, wit, knowledge of trivia, and memorable "smile" and laugh will be kept dear in our hearts. He will be truly missed. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Mary Frank Peycke, Clinton; a daughter, Cheryl Peycke, Clinton,; two sons and daughters-in-law, William T., Jr. and Maria Peycke, Clinton, Michael and Beth Sweet, San Antonio, TX; a daughter, Cristin Peycke; four grandchildren, Ashlynn Hill, Jesse Alesandro, Mia Peycke, and Sarah Sweet. He is also survived by Nicholas Alesandro and Jeff Hill, both of Clinton, whom he thought of as sons. Mr. Peycke's funeral service will be held Thursday, January 2, 2013 at 10:30 am at Hope Alliance Church in New Hartford. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Friends and loved ones are invited to call at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton, Wednesday evening, (tonight) from 4 - 7 pm. Those wishing may donate to Hope Alliance Church in Bill's memory.
