Obituary of Albert A. Savicki

Please share a memory of Albert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
CLINTON - Albert Savicki loved being surrounded by his family, and he was surrounded by them when he passed away Monday, December 9, 2013, in the warm environment of the Abraham House. Left to continue his legacy of a close, loving family are his cherished children: Bob and Karen, East Greenbush; his devoted caregivers and with whom he resided, Joyce and Denny Bojdak, Clayville; David and Gail of Daytona Beach, Florida; Paul and Megan (Foy) of Philadelphia, PA. He was a loving Grandpa to Ed and Stephanie Maturo, Rob and Beth Savicki, and Mark Savicki; loving "Ta" to Peter and Denise Dawes, Mike and Kim Sacco, Dennis and Nicole LoGalbo. His great grandchildren made his eyes sparkle; "Dziadzia" to Aidan, Emma and Olivia Maturo, and Madeline Savicki; "TaTa" to Andrew and Samantha Dawes, Sophie and Alex Sacco, Ben, Joshua Albert and Owen LoGalbo. Also surviving him is a large, and loving family- his brother Walt "Sonny" Savicki, and sister, Helen Brockett, both of Clinton and numerous nephews and nieces, with special thanks to his great nephew, Eric Savicki. He was predeceased by his wife, Lottie Mazurowski. They married at Holy Trinity Church, Utica on October 21, 1944-she passed away on that same day 59 years later. He lost his son, Frankie, October 1,1966 and held him always in his heart. He was also predeceased by his parents, brothers, sisters and in-laws, Edward and Ida Savicki; Stanley, Pearl and Helen Savicki; Roman and Stella Savicki, Alice Balch, Hank and Stella Lopata and Henry Savicki. A lifelong resident of Clinton, born to Edward and Mary (Wisniewski) Savicki on May 16, 1919, he attended the One Room School House. He could be found gardening, canning, tinkering with cars and snowmobiles or planting at the Savicki Farm Market. He was employed for many years with Mohawk Valley Community College, retiring in 1987. Spending time at the family camp in White Lake was a joy to him as well as car racing. Running was his passion and could be seen jogging up Route 12. He ran all but 7 Boilermakers-he was unable to run this year and we are so thankful to the 48 members of "Team Savicki" that rallied around him to make this year's Boilermaker Day special. In his words "It was quite a day". He looked forward to Wednesday Coffee Day with Sonny, Skip, Gerry, Cookie and Ray Savicki and Alex Sacco. We extend our thanks and heartfelt appreciation to Dr's. Lowenstein, Cutry, Sikder, Constantine and their staff. To Hospice, especially Marianne, who made it possible to be at the amazing Abraham House, thank you. Our heartfelt thanks to our cherished family and friends that supported us this past year. In his memory we would appreciate donations to The Abraham House, 1203 Kemble Street, Utica, NY 13501. Also a special thank you to Lisa, Stacy and Jean at the Pines of Utica for the excellent care given to Albert during his stay. Please join us on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Clinton to celebrate our dear Dad. His last act of kindness was donating his body to science. "Run, run, run." Arrangements are entrusted to Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton.
