Alicia Ivette Torres, 63, of Utica, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Alicia was born in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico on August 22, 1950 the daughter of Jose A. Toro and Santa Lugo. She moved to New York City at the age of 10 and later to Brooklyn until moving to Utica, NY. Alicia was employed as a legal secretary at the World Trade Center in New York City. In November of 1971, Alicia Married Jesus Manuel Torres and the couple had three children, Carlos Manuel Torres, Adriana Torres-Ramirez-Lorento and Shameeka Jennifer Torres; Besides her three children, She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Mariah Ramirez, Brittney Torres, Hiram Justin Ramirez, and Arianna Torres; her brothers, Jose Toro and Wendell Toro; her sister, Miriam Quinones; son-in-law, Bobby Lorento and daughter-in-law, Tiara Mitchell as well as many nephews and nieces. Alicia's greatest love was her family. She rejoiced our accomplishments and provided us advise during our challenging times. She was our families guardian angel and our best friend. A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, 2222 Genesee St., Utica. Her burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Alicia's family will greet visitors at the conclusion of the Memorial Mass. Our family would like to thank home health Aide's, Ms. Denise Love and Ms Dawn Chaisson, the staff of the Emergency and ICU departments at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Visiting Nurses Association and RCIL for their hard work and dedication to our mother and family. A special thank you to all our friends and family in Brooklyn and Utica, especially Ms. Joyce William for all the help and love you have given us during this difficult time.
