Marie Manna Sultenfuss was born April 27, 1931 in Utica to the late Anthony and Angeline (DePaul) Manna. Marie graduated from St. Patrick's Grammar School and old Utica Catholic Academy class of 1949. She married John W. Sultenfuss on April 24, 1954 at St. Patrick's Church, Utica. John died May 28, 1986. Marie was employed at St. Joseph's Nursing Home as Administrative Secretary, retiring May 30, 1997 after 25 years of service. Previously, she worked at Utica Catholic Charities and Marcy State Hospital. Marie was a loving, generous spouse and mother. She leaves her children, Debra Brown, Joanne and David VanAernam, Geri Sultenfuss, Robert Sultenfuss, her grandson, Christopher VanAernam, and her granddaughter and husband, Melissa and Mark Worlock with her great-grandson, Logan. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Timmy Brennan. She also leaves her best friend Patricia Spohn; and was predeceased by her close friend Connie Ryan. Her children would like to give special thanks to Marie's family at St. Joseph's Nursing Home; especially the 4th Floor nurses and aides, the Sisters, Dr. Kannan, and all the staff and volunteers for their compassion and care.
