NORTH UTICA - Samuel P. Bianco, 95, of North Utica, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center with his loving wife by his side. Sam was born on September 7, 1918, in Pittston, PA, the son of Philip and Ida (Manganiello) Bianco. He was raised and educated in Pittston. In 1942, Sam joined the Army Air Corps, and spent the next 24 years serving his country through World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, retiring from the Air Force with the rank of Master Sergeant. On September 9, 1952, Sam married Margot Seck and shared a blessed union of 61 years. After his military service, he was employed with Associated Textiles until his retirement in 1980. Sam was a member of Historic Old St. John's Church in Utica and a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeant's Association. Sam is survived by his beloved wife, Margot Bianco, North Utica; a niece, Patty N. Bianco and three nephews, Joey, Ralph and Philip Pish. He is predeceased by one brother, Raymond Bianco, and two sisters, Nancy Vacherlon and Angelina Pish. Mr. Bianco's Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica. There are no calling hours.
