Helen M. Kolodziej, 89, of the Presbyterian Home passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the home. Helen was born in Syracuse, NY on September 25, 1923 a daughter of James P. and Mary (Walsh) Keenan. In 1943 Helen married Gordon Watts, he passed away in 1967. In 1980 she married Edward Kolodziej, Sr., he passed away in 2009. For many years Helen was employed with Sperry UNIVAC and then later until her retirement Friedrich Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Utica until its closing. In her earlier years Helen was an avid bowler. Helen is survived by her four children, Marie Holt and husband Robert, NH, James Watts and wife Kathleen , WA, Adele Gardner and husband Mick, TN and Kathleen Leuthauser and husband Gene, Whitesboro, a step son, Edward Kolodziej, Jr. and wife Sharon, Whitesboro and 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by 2 sisters and 3 brothers. A Memorial Mass for Mrs. Kolodziej will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 10:00 from Our Lady of The Rosary Church, New Hartford. Burial will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Those so wishing may make donations to The Kelberman Center in Helen's memory.
