Sarah M. Moran, 99, a resident of the Folts Home in Herkimer, formerly of Kellogg Street in Utica, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at the nursing home. Sarah was born in Utica on September 24, 2013, the daughter of Michael and Mary (Dunn) Moran. She was raised and educated locally. Sarah had worked for Utica National in New Hartford, retiring in the 1980's. She was a member of the former Sacred Heart Church in Utica, and was very dedicated to her church. Sarah is survived by three nieces, Kathy (and Frank) Asaro, Newport, Suzanne (and David) Roy, Utica, Christine Smith, Cortland; two nephews, Brian (and Helen) Besig, Mohawk, Kevin (and Sandra Lapera) Besig, Mohawk. She is predeceased by three sisters, Mary Besig, Margaret DePoolis, Helen Paddock; and two brothers, John Moran and Edward Horan. Ms. Moran's funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 10:30 am at Church of the Sacred Heart & St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Utica. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica.
