Mr. Steven (Howie) Mark Howard, 45, of Herkimer, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Steven was born in Utica on February 28, 1968, the son of Susan A. Howard. He was raised locally and was a graduate of Frankfort Schuyler High School where he was a 4 year starter on the varsity football team. Howie later earned an Associate's degree in Welding from Delhi University. On July 29, 2000, Steven was united in marriage with Lisa M. Sherrick. For many years, Howie lived his passion as a cook, with Howard Johnson's in N. Utica, later with Denny's in Herkimer and most recently at Donna's Diner in Herkimer. He was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed fishing, hunting, softball and had a green thumb for gardening. He also enjoyed darts, poker and was an avid NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys Fan. Howie is survived by his beloved daughter, Morgan Lorraine Howard and her mother Lisa Mae Howard both of Herkimer as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends to numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his mother Susan. Relatives and friends are invited to Howie's memorial service on Tuesday May 21, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Interment will be held at the convenience of his family. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 prior to the memorial service.
