Mr. Ralph J. DelMonico, 69, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday May 8, 2013 at his home. Ralph was born in Manhattan, NY on December 09, 1943, the son of Frank and Nellie (Grandinette) DelMonico and received his education in Utica Schools. After high school, Ralph proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. On June 11, 1976, Ralph was united in marriage with JoAnn Flanagan. For many years, he was employed as a supervisor with Oneida Asbestos in Marcy, NY. Ralph was an avid golfer, NY Jets Fan and enjoyed watching softball, baseball and football but above all else, he loved kids, especially his cherished children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. DelMonico is survived by his beloved wife, JoAnn; three daughters and one son-in-law, Nadine and Ron (Meatball) Barroncini, Michelle (J.J.) Zielinski and Nicole DelMonico all of Utica; one son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Michelle Zielinski of Utica; 11 grandchildren, including Rheahanna Delmonico with whom Ralph shared a special bond, as well as 6 great grandchildren, three sisters, four brothers and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are close friends, Larry, Buddha and Raymond and their families and many additional friends too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his mother, Nellie, and two brothers. Mr. DelMonico's funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery in Utica.
