Utica- John Stanley Myslewicz, 84, of Utica, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center, New Hartford. John was born April 6, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Peter and Mary (Uniloswka) Myslewicz. He is a high school graduate who went on to get a degree in electronics. John served his country with the US Army during the Korean War. On January 31, 1959, John married Celeste M. Marcelli in St. Francis de Sales Church, Utica. He was employed with General Electric for 35 years, retiring after 35 years. John was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, as well as the New Hartford Seniors. He enjoyed golf and traveling with his wife. John is survived by his beloved wife, Celeste, Utica; three daughters and a son-in-law, Yvonne Reissig, Ohio, Carolyn and John Zawada, Clifton Park, NY, Mary Lynn Myslewicz, Washington; a granddaughter, Johanna Zawada; as well as by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son, Johnny, and a son-in-law, Anthony Reissig, as well as by two sisters, Lily Szczawinski and Alice Kopacki; and two brothers, Peter and Walter Myslewicz. Mr. Myslewicz’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, New Hartford, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Family will greet relatives and friends immediately following the Mass. A private interment will take place in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Whitestown.
