Joyce Eileen Marchesani, 68, of Rome passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 26, 2013. Joyce was born in Baltimore, MD on July 29, 1944, daughter of Walter R. and Helen (Ahlfeldt) Harding Sr. On June 3, 1966, Joyce married Richard Marchesani. For 20 years, she was employed as a cosmetologist in the hairdressing field, then later until her retirement in 2009 was employed at ACS in Utica. She was a member of the Sons of the Union Veterans. Joyce was a loving and caring person, who was always willing to open her home up to anyone. She was considered a second Mom to many of her children's friends. She was an avid crossword puzzler and amateur artist. Joyce is survived by her four children, Rick and Colette Marchesani, CO., Jay Marchesani, Rome, Dina and Gary Heintz, Whitesboro, and Nicole Marchesani, Marcy, seven grandchildren, Maya Montalbano, Gabriella Marchesani, Ryan Hall, Emilia Montalbano, James Marchesani, Olivia Hall and Maxwell Heintz, a brother James and Joann Harding, LaPlata, MD and her extended family, Barbara Marchesani, Rome, Richard and Laurie Marchesani, Horseheads, NY, Justin and Sara Marchesani, Syracuse, Barbara Harding , Janice Harding, Robbin Rice, and Jimmy Harding, all of MD and Rachel and Kevin Gubbins, Rome. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Jack Harding. Memorial calling hours for Mrs. Marchesani will be held on Monday (today) from 4:00-5:00 at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica with a memorial service to be held at 5:00.
