Obituary of William F. Kearney

William F. Kearney, 83, of Walker Rd., Deerfield, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2013 at his home with his loving family by his side. Bill was born on October 27, 1929, in Dorchester, MA., the son of Joseph M. and Letitia (Scannell) Kearney. He was raised and educated in the greater Boston area, and was a graduate of Stetson High School. He later, graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He was a proud veteran of the US Army having served in 1948. On July 20, 1957, at St. Mary's Church, Clinton, William was married to Beverly M. Dawes. For many years, until his retirement Wiliam was employed at Chicago Phneumatic of Utica. He was an instructor at MVCC and SUNY College of Technology. He served on the Faculty Advisory Boards at Cornell Univ., Morrisville College , and MVCC. Bill was a avid golfer and was lifetime member at Cedar Lake Country Club. William is survived by his wife, Beverly; three daughters and husbands, Christine Kearney of Deerfield and her special friend Rick Turner, Linda and Nathan Keever of Hamilton, Ellen and David Kolek of Deerfield; a son and his wife, Gregory and Lynn Kearney of Westport, CT., eight grandchildren, Sean Wlock, William, Katherine, and Robert Keever, Zachary and Rylee Kolek, Caroline and Kevin Kearney. Bill also leaves , one brother and his wife, Paul and Barbara Kearney; several in- laws, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and his brother, Joseph Kearney. Mr. Kearney's Funeral will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 9:15 AM from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, and at 10:00 AM at St. Peters Church, Utica, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. His Rite of Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Monday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. The family would like to make a special thankyou to Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Nadine and also special friend Mavis for all their care and kindness. Donations in William's memory would be appreciated to Hospice and Palliative Care.
