Stanley J. (Ben) Zebrowski, Jr., 82, of North Utica, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013 in Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare with his family by his side. Stanley was born in Utica on January 15, 1931 a son of Stanley J. and Julia (Benbenek) Zebrowski, Sr. He received his education in local schools and was a graduate of Utica College. Stanley proudly served his country in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. At Holy Trinity Church, Utica on May 4, 1957 Stanley was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Pernat a blessed union of 49 years until her death in 2006. For many years until his retirement in 1996 he was employed with New York State Department of Taxation. He was a member of St. Peter's Church, American Legion Post #229, Knights of Columbus Council #189, the Deerfield Seniors and he volunteered at Holy Trinity Church for bingo and the finance committee. One of Ben's favorite things to do was going to the casino. Most of all Ben thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Breakfast Group at Roger's Coffee Shop, time spent with good friends. Stanley is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Kim Zebrowski, Clifton Park, NY and Gary and Colleen Zebrowski, Colonie, NY, 4 grandchildren, Julia, Kara, Brendan and Adam Zebrowski, a sister, Sophie Greco, Glen Burnie, MD, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald and Charleen Pernat, Whitesboro and many nieces and nephews. Stanley was predeceased by 2 brothers, Julian and Joseph Zebrowski and a sister, Stella Benesch. Mr. Zebrowski's funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 12:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and at 1:00 from St. Peter's Church. Burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 4-7. Those so wishing may make donations to the Masonic Care Community in Stanley's name.
