Ronald F. (Ron) Biamonte, 77, of Marcy passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. Ron was born in Utica on April 22, 1935 a son of Carl and Edith (Yost) Biamonte Venettozzi. He was raised in Utica and received his education from St. Joseph's Grade School and Utica Free Academy. Ron proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956. At St. Joseph's Church, Utica on December 19, 1953 Ron was united in marriage to Betty Newell a blessed union of 60 years. For 28 years Ron was employed with Wolak's Inc., then for 15 years he owned and operated Ron's Custom Cabinets. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro, the American Legion of Waddington, NY and was an Honorary Life member of the Maynard Volunteer Fire Department and during his 35 years of active service held every office except Fire Chief. Ron was an avid reader. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. Most important he cherished the time he spent with family and friends. Ron is survived by his beloved wife Betty, two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Gary Ladd, Barneveld, and Christine and Thomas Burlin, MD, 5 grandchildren, David Small, Barneveld, Jon Small and wife Amanda, Newport, Dana Burlin, TX, Greg Burlin and wife Stephanie, MD and Missy Burlin, NYC, a great grandson, Zandar Small, Newport, a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Joanne Biamonte, FL, in-laws, Janet Gilberti, Laurie Newell, and Richard Newell, all of Utica and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Mary Lou Biamonte and 2 brothers-in-law, Robert Gilberti and William Newell. Mr. Biamonte's funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 11:30 from St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro. A spring burial will take place in Carr Cemetery, Marcy. In keeping with Mr. Biamonte's wishes there are no calling hours. Those so wishing may make donations to the Maynard Volunteer Fire Department in Ron's memory.
