Joanne Cichon, 76, of North Utica passed away at home on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Joanne was born in Oswego, NY on August 31, 1936, a daughter of the late Francis and Beatrice (Ennis) Nash. She was a 1957 graduate of the St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing. On June 27, 1959 at St. Peter's Church, North Utica, Joanne was united in marriage to Frank J. Cichon, a blessed union of 39 years until his passing on March 3, 1998. For many years until her retirement in 2001, Joanne was employed at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. She attended St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church, Utica and was member of the North Utica Senior Center, where she made many friends and will be missed dearly. Joanne was a proud grandmother, who enjoyed attending all her grandchildren's activities especially the baseball games. Her family will always remember her for being a simple person with a strong quiet character, exhibiting great strength and patience. She was a generous person, excellent listener and shared her love unconditionally. Joanne is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Catherine and Michael Beck, Whitesboro, Christine and Donald Ross, New Hartford, and Kerry Cichon, Davie, FL, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Frank and Linda Cichon, Davie, FL and Thomas Cichon, Utica, eight grandchildren, Christine Beck (Evan Crabtree), Michael, Kelsey and Sarah Beck, Jonathan and Brandon Ross, and Jessica and Christopher Cichon, Mrs. Cichon was predeceased by a brother, Charles (Bobby) Nash in 1957. Mrs. Cichon's funeral will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd. N. Utica and at 10:00 from Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 5 - 8. Those so wishing may make donations to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Drs.
