Mrs. Laurie Ann Levett, 58, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford with her loving family by her side. Laurie was born in Utica on July 18, 1958, the daughter of Robert and Esther (Wicks) Hughes and was a graduate of VVS High School. Laurie was married to Louis (Boomer) Levett until his death in 2013. At one time, she was employed with Eden Park Nursing home in Utica and more recently as a home health aide in the Utica area. Laurie was an avid bingo player, enjoyed playing games on her computer and she was of the Episcopal faith. Laurie is survived by her cherished daughter, Adreanna Levett of Utica; her mother, Esther Hughes of Vernon Center; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Deborah Hughes of Las Vegas, Roberta Smith and her companion, Randy of Texas, Roxanne Hughes of Clay, NY and Lisa and Robert Claflin of Vernon Center; one brother and sister-in-law, Rob and Lisa Hughes of Vernon Center as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father Robert. Laurie’s funeral will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 1517 Whitesboro St., Utica. Her burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours for family and friends are Sunday from 2:00-4:00 prior to the service. Those wishing to make a donation in Laurie’s memory, please consider the American Cancer Society or Stevens-Swan Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
