Mrs. Jacqueline "Jackie" R. O'Neil, 70, wife of Robert E. O'Neil, of New Street in Clinton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 17, 2013, at her home with her husband by her side. Jackie was born on March 1, 1942 in Nice, France, the daughter of the late Francois and Catherine (Gallon) Wind. She was raised and educated in Nice, graduating from high school and two years of college. Jackie met her husband, Robert E. O'Neil, while he was serving in the US Navy aboard the USS Springfield, the Flagship of the Mediterranean 6th Fleet. She came to the United States in the summer of 1964, residing in Clinton for a while before going to New York City to work at the World's Fair. On December 5, 1964, Jackie was united in marriage to Robert E. O'Neil at St. Mary's Church, Clinton. She had been employed in the medical field with several local doctors. In 1977, Jackie graduated from the MVCC Medical Assistant Program with an A+ average. She went on to work for Blue Cross/Blue Shield, retiring in 2002. Jackie enjoyed her time between her homes in Zephyr Hills, FL, Clinton, and Oneida Lake. She also loved shopping, cooking-she was a gourmet cook, and her grandchildren. Jackie is survived by her husband, Robert O'Neil, Clinton; her daughter and son-in-law, Todd and Kimberly Polley, Avon, CT; her son, Eric O'Neil, Sterling, CT; five grandchildren, Taylor, Hayden, and Kayley Polley, Justina Russett, and Jasmine Zinkovitch; one great granddaughter, Isabella Reeder; her sister, Maryse Bicchierai, Roquefort-Les-Pins, France; her brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Josette Wind, Drap, France; a brother-in-law, Ronald O'Neil, Clinton; three sisters-in-law, Sandy (and John) Williams, Clinton, Sharleen Moulton, Clinton, Denise (and Ron) Moore, Alder Creek, NY. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Gisele and Joseph Ferretti; a brother-in-law, Rene Bicchierai, and a sister-in-law, MaryAnn (Mrs. Ronald) O'Neil. Mrs. O'Neil's funeral services and interment are being held privately at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
