Audrey F. Prusko, 92, of North Utica for the last 7 years, formerly of Schenectady, peacefully entered eternal life surrounded by her children and brother on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at her home. Audrey was born in Schenectady, NY, on November 2, 1920, the daughter of Nicholas and Winifred (McCullen) Keefe. She was raised and educated in Schenectady. On January 20, 1944, Audrey married Richard Prusko, sharing a union of 34 years until his passing in 1978. She had been employed with Bellevue Maternity Hospital in Schenectady. Audrey was a Lay Carmelite and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was a parishioner of St. Mark's Church in North Utica, as well as a member of their Altar Rosary Society and the Wednesday night prayer group. Audrey is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathleen and Richard Pillig, Poughkeepsie, NY, Peg Condon, Florida, Patti and Stephen Smolansky, Florida; two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter and Donna Prusko, Albany, and Reverend Deacon Richard and Donna Marie Prusko, North Utica; ten grandchildren, Michael and Christopher Pillig, Amber McCauley, Peter Benaquisto, Jennifer Whitney, Tiffany and Ben Smolansky, Carmella, Nicholas and Gabriel Prusko, as well as by six great grandchildren as well as by many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Reverend Bernard Keefe, Utica, and Paul and Rose Keefe, Albany. Besides her husband and parents, Audrey is predeceased by two sisters, Alice and Alma; and two brothers, Jack and Everett, and a very special Aunt Laura. Mrs. Prusko's funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Mark's Church, North Utica where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Schenectady, will take place privately in the spring. There are no calling hours, although the family will be receiving guests at the church from 10:30 - 11:00 am, prior to the Funeral Mass. Arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., North Utica. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may donate to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., in Audrey's memory. The family wishes to express their gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to Audrey's daughter-in-law, Donna Marie Prusko, RN; to Dr. Kevin McCormick, Dr. Anthony Mandour, Dr. Nassif and to Monica Davis, P.A. Also to the staff of Hospice & Palliative Care, especially Cheryl, RN, Ann Marie, Laura, Georgia as well as several other compassionate caregivers. A special thank you to Patti Cook and Heather Meuller, who were caregivers as well as dear friends to Audrey. And thank you to Reverend Mark Pasik, Reverend John Quinn, Ginny Chromczak and the Wednesday night prayer group friends for their prayers and friendship.
