Obituary of Jacob W. Swiderski

Mr. Jacob W. Swiderski, 84, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Monday December 17, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Jacob was born in Ashley, PA on February 11, 1928 the son of Stanley and Laura (Soltys) Swiderski and received his education in Ashley Schools. From 1950-1952, Jacob honorably served his country in the US Army, were he was stationed at Fort Richardson in Alaska. On August 13, 1955, Jacob married Felicia A. Kudla at Holy Trinity Church in Utica. For many years, he was employed with Friedrich Heating and Air Conditioning Company in Utica, retiring in 1985. Jacob was a member of American Legion Utica Post 229, in N. Utica and was a parishioner and usher at Holy Trinity Church in Utica. He was an avid model train enthusiast, enjoyed attending local area summer concert series events with his wife and received his greatest joy spending time with his family, especially his great grandchildren who were the light of his life. Mr. Swiderski is survived by his beloved wife, Felicia; his daughter, Cindy Hunzinger of Utica; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Marybeth Swiderski of Whitesboro; four cherished grandchildren, Mike Hunzinger and his wife Ann Marie of Rome, Dan Hunzinger and his wife Regina of Albany, Laura Hunzinger of Utica and David Swiderski of Albany; five adored great grandchildren, Tristan, Aidan, Jace, Emma and Jack and a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Walter and Georgia Kudla of Whitesboro and Stella Szymanski of Utica. He was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Swiderski and son-in-law, Thom Hunzinger. Mr. Swiderski's funeral will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and 10:00 at Holy Trinity Church where his Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Rite of Committal and burial will be held in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Yorkville.
