Donald P. Zysk, 63, of Deerfield, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Donald was born in Utica on April 13, 1949 the son of Adolph and Jennie (Starczewski) Zysk. He was educated locally and was a graduate of Mohawk Valley Community College. Donald joined the U.S. Navy in 1973 and proudly served his country until 1995, then until his retirement in April 2012 was employed at Rome Labs. He attended Holy Trinity Church and was a member of the Deerfield Fish and Game Club, American Legion Whitestown Post #1113 and the NRA. Donald is survived by his 2 sons and daughters-in-law; Donald and Angela Zysk, Jr., of Kansas and Gregory and Jessica Zysk of Washington State, 7 grandchildren, Mia, Ella, Adelyn, Alyssa, Dominick, Pierce and Kiah, a sister, Cynthia Tihomirov, Old Forge , and good friends, Dale and Patty Strife and Norm, Cathy and Frank Piacentino. A Memorial Mass for Mr. Zysk will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 11:00 at Holy Trinity Church, Utica. The family will receive visitors from 10-11 at the Church. Those so wishing may make donations to the Cancer Center of Strong Memorial Hospital in Donald's memory.
