Obituary of Evelyn E. Fisher

Evelyn Fisher, age 98, of Clinton, NY, formerly of Westmoreland and Clark Mills, passed away Thursday November 22, 2012 at Faxton-St. Luke's healthcare in New Hartford. Evelyn was born on April 2, 1914 the daughter of Charles and Mary Mitchell of Clark Mills, NY. She attended schools in Clark Mills and Utica. Evelyn was employed in the Clark Mills Knitting Mill during her early work career and was proud of the work that she produced there. She also assisted her mother in the running of the "boarding house" in Clark Mills, of which she held these memories dear to her of "simpler times". In 1933, Evelyn married William J. Creaser of Creaser Rd., in Westmoreland, NY. Evelyn had one son, William L. Creaser. Later in life, Evelyn was remarried to Harvey Fisher of Rochester, NY in 1957. Evelyn was predeceased by her sister, Pearl Converse, in 1978; by Harvey, in 2000; and by her beloved son, William L., in 2006. She leaves behind her grandsons, Thomas R. Creaser and his wife, Jackie; John W. Creaser and his wife, Laura; and Timothy Creaser and his fiancée, Cecilia. She also leaves her former daughter-in-law, Martha (Creaser) Saville, of Utica, NY; two nieces, Shirley Gaul of Westmoreland and Jean McDonough of FL and three special people to whom Evelyn was always "Grandma", Jackie Giedris Chontos, Roberta Giedris Florczyk and James Giedris. Evelyn had numerous friends throughout the years who she often spoke of fondly, especially the late Don and Kay Perry of Rochester, NY. She also leaves 11 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren. Mrs. Fisher's funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton. The family would like to extend thanks to Dawn Worden and Robert Daws of Westmoreland for their help and devoted friendship with Evelyn. It was Evelyn's request that any donations in her memory by made to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society.
