Dorothy E. Hopsicker, 89, of Marcy passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012 with her loving family by her side. Dorothy was born in San Luis Obispo, CA on March 9, 1923 a daughter of LeRoy and Mary (Van Arnam) Feagins. Her family moved to Utica in 1936 where she completed her education at Utica Free Academy. In Long Lake, NY on August 30, 1941 Dorothy was united in marriage to Charles T. Hopsicker a blessed union of 49 years until his death in 1990. Dorothy was a member of St. Peter's Church, North Utica. Dorothy was a talented homemaker who always enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, upholstering and baking for family. Dorothy is survived by three daughters, Sue Martin, Barneveld, Rosemary and Brian Drosky, ME, and Bridget and Steve Bednarz, Whitesboro, three sons, Tom and Paula, Hinckley, Jerry and Ellen, OR and Jeff and Karen, Hinckley. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Dorothy was predeceased by 3 sisters, Kathryn, LaMae and Virginia. Mrs. Hopsicker's funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 8:45 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica and at 9:30 from St. Peter's Church, N. Utica. Burial will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday (Today) from 5-7.
